Dugald McIntyre

Dear All With the deepest sadness and regret I have to inform you of the passing of Past Captain, Honorary Life Member and Club Historian, Dugald McIntyre following a very brief illness. There is no doubt this news will come as a great shock to everyone. Dugald was a stalwart supporter of absolutely everything that was organised by Millport Golf Club and served on every Committee and as our Captain from 1979 to 1980 inclusive. He gave his time unreservedly with much grace and humour. He joined the Club aged 12, in 1950 and remained an active playing member throughout. Dugald was the life and soul of our Annual Glasgow Fair Fortnight and his mojo was certainly working right to the end. He embraced the need to ensure the AGM ran smoothly in the back lounge of the Tavern and made sure all relevant points were addressed through the Chair - as in picking up the chair and speaking through the back of it! He will be greatly missed by all of us, in addition by the wider Millport Community and the associated Clubs of the Firth of Clyde and Argyle and Bute. His funeral will be held on Friday 15th March in the Church in Millport at 12:00 and then at the cemetery at 1:00pm with a reception in the Golf Club thereafter. Please let me know if you require any further information. Regards Patricia
